Our second Foeder beer is ready for New Tap Tuesday today at 3pm.

Foeder Brau #2, 6.5% ABV, IPA

This is a “New England” style IPA. This particular style has been gaining popularity. It moves away from more traditional style IPAs for a few reasons, the most obvious being they are served unfiltered, some to the point where they are referred to as “milkshake” beers. The other reason, which is what is featured in this beer, is the way the beer is hopped. While most IPAs have a heavy bittering addition, this style generally does not and has more of an emphasis on hop flavor and aroma, relying on the yeast in the finished product to add biterness and mouthfeel. Most of the good NE style IPAs taste like fruit juice. This beer is hopped at a rate of 3 pounds per barrel of Centennial, Amarillo, Citra, and Galaxy. Served unfiltered.
